YOUNGSTERS from a Hampshire school are hoping to clock up cash for the tsunami appeal using their voices.
Pupils from Hook-with-Warsash Primary School have created an innovative charity CD featuring a song from their Christmas musical The White Feather, called Keep Your Faith.
The song was written by teacher Mark Baxter and all the school's staff and children have taken part in recording the track. Now they are hoping copies of their new CD will fly out of the Church Road school, making hundreds for the disaster appeal.
Head teacher Chris Hines said: "The children were really keen to raise money for the tsunami victims and in the past we have been very successful using music from the school to raise money for charity. The tsunami has affected all the children here and they are really concerned about it. This CD is a way for them to feel that they have done something to help. Keep Your Faith is one of the sadder songs from the musical so it lent itself to the disaster."
In 1998, Hook-with-Warsash Prim-ary collected £2,000 to help people affected in Hurricane Mitch.
Mr Hines said: "With so many more that died in this disaster we are hoping to raise even more.''
The CD is £5 and can be ordered from the school. Call 01489 572393.
