After a couple of weeks to relax, it was back to the action for many of the league sides, this week being another Advertiser Cup round.
Four matches were played at the new Portway Depot, two of which were very closely fought. John Hanson C v Philip and Tacey, a match outstanding from the preliminary round, was finally played and despite a very favourable handicap awarded to Lou Hughes of the school side, it was the Philip and Tacey trio who clinched the tie on the final game of the evening, to win 5-4 and they now face the strong Hanson Z.
