AN estate agency in Basingstoke has kicked off the new year with the traditional January sales.
Tom Bateson, local director of Connells, said: "The evidence is clear that, in the current market, competitive pricing is still a fundamental factor in attracting buyers' interest and agreeing a successful sale."
So, for the month of January, Connells is requesting that its vendors reduce asking prices by between five and 10 per cent to get new year sales off to a flying start.
One of the houses in the sale is in South View, Basingstoke, where the vendors have reduced the price of the semi-detached house from £194,950 to £184,950.
The house has three bedrooms and a family bathroom upstairs, while the downstairs is divided into two reception rooms.
The kitchen has a door out to a rear lobby and a lean-to, which is used as a utility area.
A workshop is built between the lean-to and the garage.
Its location is within half-a-mile of Basingstoke town centre.
