A CHARITY set up by the family of Southampton motorbike crash survivor Wayne Howard has been reunited with its stolen mascot.
Buzz the cuddly bumblebee vanished from a window display at the Wayne Howard Trust charity shop in Shirley, Southampton, when thieves smashed the glass last week.
The distinctive soft toy had been bought by Wayne's partner, Tracy Goodwin, as the charity uses a bumble bee in its logo.
Wayne's mother, Isobel Howard, pictured, who manages the charity shop in Church Street, was furious when she discovered the break-in.
Now the family has been reunited with Buzz following an article in the Daily Echo.
The mascot was returned to Isobel after being found dumped near Shirley Towers.
In the meantime, Isobel had received a replacement cuddly bee from staff at Totton based soft toy firm Russ Berrie.
Wayne, 36, continues to make good progress at his Millbrook home, after being flown to a top German clinic for treatment in 2002. The dad-of-three was left with brain damage following a near-fatal motorbike accident in August 2000.
