TWENTY-TWO young Hamble Aquatics swimmers recorded 56 personal bests at the North Junior Invitational Meet at Basingstoke on Sunday.
Tamsyn Ryan took a gold medal with an excellent 50 metres backstroke swim in the girls' 12-year age group in a personal time of 34:78sec. She also won gold in breaststroke and collected two bronze medals in freestyle and butterfly to win the top girl award in her age group.
Lucy Bailey put on a great display in the girls' 13-year age group, with a silver medal in breaststroke in 39:80 (pb) and two bronze medals (both pbs) in freestyle and backstroke.
Emma Dollery, 14, struck gold in backstroke, silver in freestyle and bronze in butterfly.
Neil Redman won silver in the ten-year breastroke in 44:63 (pb) and Daniel West did a brilliant under-13 50 metres breaststroke time of 42:38 (pb).
Alex Osman won gold in his under-13 50 metres with a breaststroke time of 37:86, plus a silver medal in freestyle and bronze medals in butterfly and backstroke.
Youngsters India Bosley, Kayleigh Ryan, Carys Shears, Caitlan Bainton, Emily Halliday and Poppy Miles did well in their first competition.
