SAINTS' Belgian full-back Jelle Van Damme named an aeroplane City of Southampton in a ceremony at Southampton Airport.
The plane will be shuttling from Southampton to Brussels and back after its owners, airline VLM, took over the route from British Airways.
The Fokker 50 regional aircraft was named after touching down at the end of its inaugural flight
Southampton Airport managing director David Cumming said: "We are honoured that VLM Airlines has chosen 'City of Southampton' as the name for this aircraft.
"VLM is committed to providing a reliable and punctual service between Brussels and Southampton. This naming is an illustration of the airline's commitment to this region."
