TURKEY pie: Has anyone any recipes for turkey pie (or any other) that they would like to pass on to others?

This year, to celebrate our success last year in the Calor Village of the Year, the Sherfield Cook Book is being updated.

The editors are looking for contributions from all - including men and children - and the closing date is fast approaching.

Please submit a recipe with cooking instructions to either Tracy on 882503 or Kathleen on 882223.

The deadline is January 20, so please hurry.

They've already got mine!

HAPPY Faces: They begin 2005 having had a very positive Ofsted report.

Peggy has given me some comments from the report: "Children's personal, social and emotional development is very good.

"They are confident, and develop trusting relationships with the staff and each other.

"Very good support given to children with special needs; they enjoy participating in all activities."

As usual the Happy Faces rounded off the year with their Christmas party and nativity play.

The children were wonderful and there were lots of tears in the audience.

CAROL singing: This went brilliantly on December 17, with a fantastic turnout.

About 30 singers strolled around the village, accompanied by the Rev Politt, and raised £70 from contributions.

Anne Hills, from The Florist Workshop, was one of the carol singers, and this money is going to help the project work that Anne does, with her husband, Jim, for a children's trust in India.

PARISH council: The first meeting of 2005 will be in the Liddell Hall on Wednesday, at 7.30pm.
