She is now convalescing, but will be on crutches for six weeks.

ANIMATION: The Village Club will be running a one-day workshop on making animated films, from 10am to 4pm on Monday, February 14.

Children will be able to learn the principles of animation using the latest technology.

RHYTHM and blues: Guitarist Pete Harris brings his blues band to Kingsclere on Saturday, February 19, at 7.30pm.

This band is well-known on the blues circuit and will bring a feast of Chicago and country blues to the Village Club.

Tickets are £8.50 and include a glass of wine and light refreshments at the interval.

STONEHENGE: The Heritage Association enjoyed a fascinating Christmas meeting on December 16, when archaeologist Andrew Lawson spoke on the myth and mystery of Stonehenge.

His tale of the efforts to unravel the secrets of this area of Salisbury plain was offset by his description of the plans to develop sensible visiting to this precious site.
