PHONE mast news: Simon Preedy reports that the planning applications for two new masts in the Hatch Warren area were expected to be submitted this week.
Orange is likely to apply for a mast in Woodbury Road, close to the chicane and the bottom of the community fields.
Its other application is for a mast adjacent to Cliddesden Lane, near the Brighton Hill Playing Fields as you travel down to Woods Lane Roundabout.
Both these installations are planned to be at least partially screened by the existing trees and shrubs.
CHILDREN'S fun club: This popular club returns to the community centre on Saturday, February 5. To book a place, call 811262.
MARATHON: Good luck to everyone who has started the new year with a schedule of training for the London Marathon, especially to Vince Butcher, Hatch Warren resident and my brother, who will be running his first-ever marathon this year.
He is running for the Primary Biliary Cirrhosis Foundation.
If anyone would like to offer him sponsorship, for any amount whatsoever, then please let me know and I can pass on the details.
RENEWAL: Membership of the Hatch Warren Community Association is now due for yearly renewal.
It costs just £5 per family and this entitles you to early booking for many activities, as well as discounted ticket prices and reduced rates on hiring rooms.
Further details from the community office.
