YOUNGSTERS from Locks Heath are being given their say on future facilities to fill open space in the area.

Councillors and council officers from Fareham Borough Council are inviting young people from the area to an informal meeting to share ideas on how land adjacent to Locks Heath Shopping Centre could be used in time for the summer.

Skatepark equipment, a climbing wall and games areas are all possibilities for the space and guests will be shown an array of photographs of types of equipment possible before filling out a questionnaire to indicate what they want.

Executive member for leisure, Councillor Connie Hockley, said: "This is a great opportunity for those who have a keen interest in leisure to come forward and have their say.

"By meeting directly with residents, and listening to their needs and concerns, we hope to come up with an agreement on a facility that could benefit all."

The meeting is to take place from 7.30pm at the Genesis Young Persons Centre in Centre Way on January 12.
