A teenage boy wept as he told a court how a Winchester man sexually assaulted him and a friend after plying the youngsters with alcohol.

Alan Green faces three charges in connection with the incident last summer, in which it is claimed he attacked the two 14-year-old boys after they had spent the day gardening for him.

As the trial at Winchester Crown Court got under way, the jury heard from one of the boys, neither of whom can be named for legal reasons, how the alleged attack started.

He said he that after he and his friend had finished gardening for Green, they went inside to get paid. Green offered them a drink and some crisps and they sat down to watch a film with him as they drank.

However, shortly before the film finished, the boys claim Green grabbed one of them by the throat, tried to pour a bottle of vodka into the teenager's mouth, and then sexually assaulted both of them.

Speaking via a televised link, the boy told the court: "He grabbed my head and pushed it back and then tipped a bottle of vodka down me. I could feel it burning my throat."

He said his friend then tried to run off, but Green forced him to the floor before trying to pour more of the vodka down the second boy. The youngster then described how Green carried out a frenzied sexual attack on both of them, at which point the boy broke down in tears and the interview was halted.

When it restarted, the teenager was asked what his friend was doing as he was assaulted. He said he was crying and whispering to him: "Help me." Asked what he did next and how he was feeling, the boy said he was scared and fearful, but that he ran at Green and tried to barge him off his friend. He said Green stumbled and they managed to escape, running to a nearby skate park next to the Carroll Youth Centre, where help was called for.

Green (40), formerly of Stuart Crescent, Stanmore, Winchester, denies two counts of sexual activity with a male child under 16 and one count of sexual assault on a male.

The trial, before Judge Guy Boney, QC, is expected to last until Monday. Green was granted bail on the condition that he sleeps on the Isle of Wight while the case is running.
