A VERY happy and peaceful New Year to you all. Here is the news for the start of 2005.
PANTOMIME: Silchester Players present King Arthur, a Pantomime Adventure in Camelot in the village hall.
Tickets cost £6, £4 for concessions, and are available by calling 0118 981 5600.
The dates are January 21, 22, 28 and 29, starting at 7.30pm, and there are two matinees each Saturday at 2.30pm.
I am told the tickets are selling very well.
CHURCH Service: There will be an All Age Worship in the parish church on Sunday, at 10am, to celebrate Epiphany.
The subject will be "A Very Special Journey" and I'm sure some help will be needed to move the kings to their new place in the stable.
ROMAN dig talk: A very advance notice, but you all know how fast these tickets go.
Professor Michael Fulford will speak in the village hall on Friday, February 25, from 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £3, and are available by calling 0118 9700282.
PHOENIX Club: Holds its 12th night lunch at the Calleva Arms on Wednesday.
Menus are available from Noreen on 0118 9700647.
