Bacardi-Martini, which has a factory in Southampton, is helping city party-goers get home safely by sponsoring the city council's Nightlink buses during the busiest evening of the year.

Revellers will be able to get a free ride home on all three of the council's Nightlink buses on New Year's Eve only. Services will run every 30 minutes between 12.30am and 3am.

Chris Searle, external affairs director Bacardi-Martini, said: "Bacardi-Martini pleased to be associated with Nightlink. Revellers can enjoy their evening in the knowledge that the Nightlink connection will get them back safely."

Councillor Jill Baston, city council Cabinet member for environment and transport, added: "Our Nightlink bus service has been getting thousands of people home safely from the city centre for over three years.

"This year, we're delighted to be working in partnership with Barcardi-Martini, and we would like to thank them for their generous support."

The buses are all accompanied by security officers and all have CCTV cameras installed. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come first-served basis. Bus times for regular Nightlink bus services are available from the First Southampton Travel shop, local bars and clubs, Gateway and the city's Tourist Information Centre. Times are also available from a 24-hour recorded information line on 023 8083 3322, or by calling Traveline on 0870 608 2608.

Nightlink information is also available on the council's website at www.southampton.gov. Nightlink's usual cost is £2.
