IN this day and age it is indeed unusual for Foxcotte Lake at Charlton to have a full complement of anglers for a match, but it happened last Sunday for the 'Christmas Open', which was contested by 35 enthusiastic competitors for the five-hour match organised superbly by match secretary Dave Tucker.
With prizes for everyone and a super-pool paying out to the top two anglers this is an ever-popular match in Andover Angling Club's season, whatever the weather.
With frosts in the preceding days, which causes the larger fish to semi-hibernate, it was always going to be a small fish match with very few bonus fish caught and so it proved.
