WHITCHURCH signed off from what has been a depressing year for the club with a morale boosting victory against a hard-working AFC Aldermaston at Longmeadow on Tuesday night.
'Church benefitted from having the only game that night as a number of Lions fans came across to say hello to their ex-boss Howard Goddard, and they saw an excellent display where the visitors had no answer to the youthful skill of the likes of Alex and Chris Iddles, and Ricky Attridge.
Aldermaston did themselves few favours when Matt Tyler was sent off just past the half hour mark for collecting two bookings in as many minutes but by then Whitchurch were beginning to dominate and soon took the lead.
