Former Hampshire Young Cricketers all-rounder Chris Wright haslanded a two-year summer contract with Middlesex, which will keep him atLord's until 2006.
The 19-year old, who is in the second year of a Sports Science degree course at Anglia PU, Cambridge, made his First Class debut for Middlesex last summer.
He played in the County Championship victory over Worcestershire at New Road, three totesport League games against Durham, Worcestershire and Yorkshire - and Hampshire in front of a bumper 8,000 Twenty20 Cup crowd at the Rose Bowl.
Wright, who played for Hampshire's junior representative teams from 12 to 19 years of age, plays Southern Electric Premier League cricket for Liphook & Ripsley.
He has been spending the winter months working on his fitness and technical aspects of his pace bowling.
Wright will link up with the Cambridge UCCE squad at Easter before rejoining Middlesex in late June.
Another former Hampshire YC player, Steve Snell from Ventnor, has joined Gloucestershire in a batsman-wicketkeeper role.
