SHIRLEY SAC
Weston Shore was the setting for the club's Xmas Fayre shore competition where 44 members signed - though only 20 returned 33 fish to the scales comprising of flounders and a sea scorpion.
Wayne Bulley won with a trio of flatties weighing 3lb 8oz followed by Peter Jeans with a brace of fish weighing 3lb 0.75oz. Included in his catch was the day's heaviest flattie of over 2lb.
David Neil was third in the senior section with 2lb15oz ahead of Bob Patterson (2lb 3oz) and Richard Dunham (2lb 1oz).
LYMINGTON & DISTRICT SFC
The first shallow boat fixture of the new season held in the western Solent provided some fair sport with a number of dogfish, bull huss, pout, whiting and bass returned to the scales.
Barry Littlefair won with six fish weighing 9lb 15.75oz to nudge out Aiden Littlefair (8lb 5oz), Glen Short (7lb 9oz) and Terry Smith (5lb 5.5oz). The day's best specimen was a 2lb dogfish bagged by Terry Smith while the heaviest fish, a 3lb 1.5oz bass, was landed by Andrew Dawkins.
FORD SPORTS SAC
A senior large boat competition held out from Keyhaven produced a win for Mike Hawkes (43lb 7oz). Included in his catch was a 32lb conger.
Bill Logan came second with 27lb 1oz from Keith Warner and Eddie Alsford with 26lb 9.5oz & 24lb 8oz respectively.
ELMORE SAC
The final shallow boat competition of the year, which included the club's Christmas Match, was won by Alan Woodage with a 21lb haul of doggies, pout and whiting. The runner-up was Robert Petters (19lb 11oz) followed by Gary Mills (12lb 11oz).
ASHLETT SAC
The club's December shallow boat competition held to the south of the Needles and also within the Solent, was won by Dink Lemoignan with just over 50lb of fish worth 140.
Lemoignan was fishing from the small boat "Make My Day" with his partner Andy Stevens, who had a 30lb catch worth 90 points. Their catch comprised of a 12lb 8oz along with doggies, pout and whiting.
The runner-up was Gary Withers who was fishing from "Sea Hunter". He ended with 70 points.
