CHOPPERED in from the North Pole, Santa Claus put a smile on the face of every Balksbury Infant School pupil at the end of term.
The white-whiskered visitor brought presents for the children in a festive sack and asked the youngsters what they wanted for Christmas.
"It was all a big surprise for the pupils, because we told them they had an extra playtime," said the school's head Patricia Murley.
Much to the children's amazement, 'playtime' was interrupted by the shock arrival of Santa.
"Their faces were a picture when they realised who it was," Mrs Murley added.
Santa's helpers working at the Middle Wallop Army Air Corps organised the pre-Christmas treat for the children.
