ANDOVER police are appealing for help to identify a man and woman they would like to interview about a distraction burglary.
The burglary took place in Ragged Appleshaw on Monday when a pensioner lost more than £400.
The 74-year old victim was in her garden gathering firewood when she was approached by a man and woman between 10.25am and 10.30pm.
The couple engaged her in conversation and then followed her into her flat.
The man kept the pensioner talking for sometime. His accomplice meanwhile was not in the room.
When it became clear the pensioner would not hand over any money, they decided to leave.
Shortly afterwards the pensioner noticed her bedroom had been searched and money was missing.
The white man is described as aged 30 to 35, 5ft 6ins tall, thick set with a barrel chest.
He was clean shaven with a round face, rosy cheeks and short dark hair.
He was wearing navy blue trousers and jacket with vertical red stripes on the chest.
The woman is described as white with olive skin, in her late 20s to early 30s and 5ft 4ins tall. She was plain looking with her hair tied up under a woolly hat.
She was wearing black trousers and jacket with two vertical white stripes on the chest.
Andover detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen this couple in the area or from anyone who may be able to identify them. Call Andover police station on 0845 045 45 45.
