IT'S official - this eye-catching home is the most festive in the region.

Linda Knight, 62, and husband Bob collected their top prize of £300 Haskins vouchers from store manager Darren Goldsworthy yesterday.

The pensioners transformed their semi-detached home in Outer Circle, Coxford, into a winter wonderland - all to brighten up the lives of the children she drives to school each day.

"We never thought we'd win. I'm so chuffed," said an excited Linda yesterday, after picking up the titles of Daily Echo Haskins Festive Home of the Year. "We just started this because I drive special needs children to their schools and they love to go past Christmassy houses.

"I'll spend all the money on more Christmas decorations, of course!"

The judges also selected two runners-up who received £50 vouchers to spend in the West End home and garden store.

The Purkiss family, from Meggeson Avenue, Townhill Park, won £50 for their fabulous decorations, which included a projection onto a neighbouring house.

Brewery worker Ian Purkiss, 41, even saved money throughout the year to buy presents for children living in the street. He dressed as Father Christmas to deliver the gifts.

Mum Maureen, 67, said: "I'm so pleased to have won something. We worked so hard on the house and have even had letters addressed to Santa put through the front door."

The third prize winners, who also received £50 from Haskins boss Mr Goldsworthy, were Sandy and Tony Green.

They turned their home in Jacobs Walk, Hounsdown, into a magical Christmas venue with its own Santa's grotto.

Part-time receptionist and mum-of-four Sandy, 34, said: "It's on a Victorian theme and it's inside and outside. It took us about a week to get it all sorted."
