SOUTHAMPTON Tae Kwon Do Academy held a successful tournament at Chamberlayne Leisure Centre in Sholing when Southampton youngsters won 21 gold, 22 silver and 35 bronze medals.
Other tae kwon do schools participating were Reading, Basingstoke, Aldershot, Portsmouth, Poole, Cowplain and Chichester.
In all 170 took part, ranging from from tiger cubs (three to six years) through to juniors (7-10), super juniors (11-14), adults (15-35) and up to VIP divisions.
Simon Bailey, the senior Southampton instructor, has been teaching since March 1998 in Southampton and full-time at the Academy at the Eastpoint Centre at Thornhill since March, 2002.
