MEMBERS of controversial rap group So Solid Crew took centre stage on a trip to Southampton.
The Twins and the So Solid Kids appeared at Northam Community Centre to join in with a football match and pass on a few musical tips.
The rappers were in the city to help open the new Northam Globe - a games area that has been completely refurbished next to Northam Community Centre as part of a new affordable housing development in the neighbourhood.
Two years ago, So Solid Crew were dropped from Hampshire's Homelands festival because police believed the presence of the chart-topping collective would make the event uncontrollable.
One of the group's front men, Megaman - otherwise known as Dwayne Vincent - is currently in custody, accused of murdering Colin Scarlett in south London. The star also faces charges of possessing a firearm with intent.
Another band member, Asher D, was sentenced to 18 months in a youth offenders' institution in March 2002 for illegal possession of a loaded pistol.
