Sir.-I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when I read of the latest antics of our local MP, Andrew Hunter.
Elected (if I may remind him) as a Conservative, he has left that party and joined the hard line, anti-Good Friday Agreement, DUP, led by Ian Paisley.
He can behave in this arrogant way safe in the knowledge that his constituents are powerless to stop him. We now have to wait for him to retire at the next election.
As far as I am aware, the Good Friday Agreement is supported by all mainstream parties in Great Britain, even the previous and current American presidents have personally supported the plan.
Mr Hunter's justification for his switch included the bizarre statement that "the DUP has a consistent approach of opposition to the Belfast agreement - to its implementation - and that, I think, is the way forward".
Surely that's going backwards, not forward, Andrew?
If Mr Hunter had any principles, he would resign now, stand in a by-election, and give his constituents an opportunity to vote on his views - fat chance of that!
