Chandler's Ford bookworms are in for an early Christmas treat.
Their local library is reopening its doors today after a major makeover.
There will be a more welcoming, bright and modern environment to spend time browsing, borrowing or studying.
The building has been closed since August for complete internal redecoration, including new carpets, improved lighting, a new inquiry desk, as well as new tea and coffee facilities.
Library users can also look forward to being able to use the service on Wednesdays from 9.30am to 5pm bringing opening hours more into line with modern day needs.
A new lift facility providing more customer friendly access to the first floor will be in installed in the spring.
Until then the existing lift in the workroom area can be used.
During the makeover Hampshire County Council has provided a temporary service at a shop unit at the Chandler's Ford Precinct.
Many local people have told staff that they have welcomed having a library in the temporary location.
Now the county council has decided to set up a mobile library at the Chandler's Ford Central Club. It will stop there between 3.15pm and 4.45pm on alternate Tuesdays, from tomorrow.
