Winchester artist, Hugh Greasley, is exhibiting his new work in a rather unconventional place - not in a gallery or museum, but The Albion pub, on the corner of Stockbridge Road and Andover Road.
The pub held a special evening on Tuesday for enthusiasts to meet him and learn more about his work, which, he says, is inspired by a combination of nature and screen print design.
His paintings are based on subjects such as the clear chalk streams of the Itchen Valley and the shimmering evening light on St Ives harbour.
While some of Hugh's work has been displayed in the pub over the past year, this is the first time he has shown an entirely new series in The Albion.
Jane Wisniewski, co-landlord, with her husband, Jan, said: "Hugh's work is sufficiently striking to accompany our interior theme perfectly and we feel strongly that it adds to the atmosphere of the pub.
"We're certainly pleased to be able to make his art accessible to everyone who comes in, and we hope that friends and art enthusiasts alike will join us to view Hugh's work."
