TWO Hampshire homes high on the dazzle factor have made a big impact this Christmas.
This, fabulous home in James Grieve Avenue, Locks Heath, shown top left, is the work of husband-and-wife electrical contractor team Kevin and Angie Dewey.
The jewel in the crown of their display is a £1,000 purpose-built Christmas light lamppost that lights up in a mock firework burst outside the couple's home.
Mum-of-one Angie, 41, said: "We had the post concreted into the front garden, so it was quite a big job.
"It's coming down after Christmas though, and we'll use it again next year. We also paid £300 for a cherry-picker crane to come and put up the lights all over the house - and we'll have to pay for it to come and take them down again in January!"
She and Kevin, 44, who run Hillside Electrical from their home, had the help of son Declan, 12, in putting up the display they've been running for the past decade.
Meanwhile, a home with a lights collection worth more than £3,000 is dazzling neighbours in Truro Rise, Bishopstoke.
Paul White, 20, and his brothers David, 22, and 13-year-old Robert spent almost two and a half weeks putting up the swathes of lights, Santas and snowmen.
This is the sixth year they've put on the spectacular display - and it's the biggest yet.
Paul, a Travis Perkins driver, said: "We just do it for the sheer fun of it."
Both homes have been nominated for the Daily Echo Haskins Festive Home of the Year competition - and a top prize of £300 to spend at the West End home and garden store.
The deadline for entries has now passed and it's up to the judges to decide which Hampshire home should scoop the festive title, to be announced in the Echo on Christmas Eve.
