BIG Brother winner Nadia is a Christmas winner - oh yes she is!
The reality TV star has helped ticket sales for this year's Southampton's pantomime to top the £1m mark for the second year running.
Bumper sales for The Mayflower theatre's glittering production of Peter Pan have equalled last year's record-breaking figures for Aladdin, starring comic Jim Davidson, which also raked in £1m before the show opened. Now Peter Pan, starring Paul Nicholas and Geoffrey Hughes - the slobbish Onslow from TV hit comedy Keeping Up Appearances - has got theatre bosses jumping for joy.
The show opened to a full house last night.
Nicholas plays the evil Captain Hook with Hughes as Smee and Nadia Almada, the undisputed queen of Big Brother Five, in a specially written part as The Mermaid.
Sarah Jane Honeywell, star of Cbeebies Tikkabilla, plays the title role.
Theatre bosses say that the show promises fun for all the family with all the magic of traditional panto, songs, laughter and plenty of audience participation.
Spokesman Patrick Brookes told the Daily Echo: "It is a repetition of last year. The early shows are obviously well-booked but once we get to the other side of Christmas there are plenty of seats still available."
The theatre will be staging a total of 57 performances of Peter Pan.
For tickets and information about the panto which runs until January 23, ring the Mayflower ticket hotline on 023 8071 1811, buy online at www.the-may flower.co.uk or from the kiosk at WestQuay shopping centre.
