A TIDWORTH councillor has put up £50 of his own money to help catch those responsible for trashing some of the town's Chris-tmas lights on 8 December.
Chris Franklin, who has spent a lot of his own time as well as £12,000 of public money on the lights, is furious and says the actions of those responsible risked the lives of road users.
Police were called to the scene near the iron bridge in Tidworth after a loud bang was heard.
"It would appear that some youths had tried pulling the lighting through the railings on the top of the bridge and had succeeded in blowing the rope light as well as causing it to hang down," said Mr Franklin.
"This also caused a danger to vehicles passing through on the A338."
