CAROLS will be filling the airwaves tonight at Southampton Airport.

Hangar 2, with the backdrop of airport operational vehicles and fire engines, will be the setting for the popular Hymns in the Hangar which starts at 7.30pm.

It is expected that more 650 local people, including school children, civic leaders, plus friends and family of the airport, will be joining in the lively Christmas programme.

Airport chaplain, the Rev Delvin Knower, said: "This is the tenth such Celebration of Christmas and we have an even bigger programme of entertainment planned."

The event, which will raise money for local charities, will be followed by mulled wine and mince pies.
