ONE of the bands who defined the sound of the 80s are back on the road and coming to Southampton Guildhall this weekend.
The Human League, comprising of Phil Oakey, Susanne Sulley and Joanne Catherall, had a huge influence on pop music during their heyday in the 80s and continue to exert that influence today.
They had their first top 40 hit in 1981 when The Sound of the Crowd reached number 12 in the charts.
They followed this success up with top ten hits Love Action, Being Boiled, Mirror Man, Keep Feeling Fascination and Human.
They scored their only number one in 1981 with Don't You Want Me.
They continued to have some chart success in the 90s, reaching number six in 1995 with Tell Me When.
Fans who go to see them at the Guildhall on Sunday can look forward to hearing all of the band's hits from a career which has spanned almost a quarter of a century.
They have recently enjoyed a return to popularity, which has included an acclaimed performance on Later with Jools Holland.
Southampton Guildhall. Sunday, December 12. Tickets: £21.50. Box office: 023 8063 2601.
