The 2004 F1 Drivers' Challenge is entering its final stages and two of the three remaining drivers originally qualified compete at Wessex Raceway indoor karting centre in Salisbury.
The penultimate stage of the competition sees Andover's Brady James and Brighton's Rui Chagas pitted against one other driver in a Formula 1 racing car.
The test, to be held early in 2005, comes after six competitive stages involving karts, Formula Zip, Formula Renault and other types of racing vehicle.
The winner of the three-way drive-off must then prove his skills in a solo qualifying session at an as yet undisclosed racing circuit either in the UK or on the continent.
At stake is an international racing licence and contract with a top-level motor racing team.
The Raceway is the longest, fastest and most challenging indoor karting centre in the South of England and the only qualifying centre for Wiltshire, Dorset, Hampshire, Cornwall, Devon, the Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands.
