ARTY children who triumphed in a "saving energy" poster competition have been handed their prizes at Basingstoke hospital.
The competition invited children to produce posters which would be used to promote energy saving at the hospital, with winners picking up a range of art prizes donated by WHSmith.
Winners included Charlotte Blackman, 15, from Cranbourne, Gemma Hanafin, 10, from Brighton Hill, Oliver Clark, eight, from Old Basing, and Florence Lappin, four, from Brookvale.
David Emmerson, chairman of Basingstoke hospital, presented the prizes.
He said: "The aim of the competition was to try and encourage people outside of the hospital to think about energy saving - which is something we are concentrating on at the moment."
George Hood, deputy leader of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, was present at the prizegiving.
He added: "The competition used children to set an example to older people."
