TRAVELLING thespians Forest Forge are out on the road with their latest Christmas show - a new version of that classic Tales from the Arabian Nights.

The Ringwood-based professional theatre company is travelling to village halls and community centres all over Hampshire, Dorset and southern Wiltshire over the next two months.

Adapted by David Haworth, Tales from the Arabian Nights tells the story of the beautiful Scheherazade, chosen as a bride by the King but in mortal danger.

The monarch has decreed that he shall take a new bride every day but in order to keep her faithful have her executed the next morning.

Scheherazade contrives to tell him a story so intriguing that he will have to delay her death in order to hear the end of it.

The production uses actors, songs, puppets and, of course, storytelling in a show that is perfect for all the family.

There is also audience participation - well, taking their own Forty Thieves

on the road would clearly have bust the budget.

The cast includes Christopher Talman (a big hit in Raising The Roof last year), Bibi Jacob, Christopher Tajah and Morag Cross.

The production plays at Langford Parish Hall tonight, Durweston Village Hall tomorrow, Sparsholt Village hall on Thursday and Bramshaw Village Hall on Friday. Tales From The Arabian Nights is on tour until January 22.
