THE big two-oh is coming up! The annual Rotherwick Scouts' Wine and Cheese evening is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special party next Friday, December 10, in the village hall.
The biggest and best-known fundraiser for the year, it's a great opportunity to meet newcomers to the village and get into the community Christmas spirit.
Tickets cost £7, and include a glass of wine, and all you can eat from a wide selection of cheeses, breads, pickles and so on.
There will be a tombola and the Christmas grand draw will also take place.
For tickets and further information, call Sue or Richard Whistler on 763118.
DOWN on the farm: Fifty turkeys arrived at Lyde Green Farm at the end of September, and are now keeping James and Helen busy as they fatten the birds up for Christmas!
So if you fancy a genuine home-grown Rotherwick turkey for Christmas, do place an order now on 881896, and they'll save one for you.
Fresh cream, eggs and the new batch of pork and sausages are also available.
Stop by at milking time and James will be happy to show you around, although perhaps you should call ahead to warn him!
CALLING all musicians: The 2005 Hart Young Musician of the Year competition is again looking for local talent, young maestros whose fingers fly on their chosen instruments!
We have had several Rotherwick musicians in the list of past competitions, winners and contestants alike, so make sure your particular star is in the running.
The closing date for entries is next Wednesday, so for entry forms or further information, contact Susan Band or Mildred Stocks on 01252 617141.
