CHILDREN from Hook-with-Warsash Primary School filled Fareham's Ferneham Hall with the sounds of their own musical production.
The White Feather, written by teacher Mark Baxter, is based on events from the First World War.
The story is a heart-warming tale of a group of friends who live through the horror and challenges brought on by the war.
Songs performed during the drama tell tales of sadness, challenges, determination and intrigue as the friends endure the realities of war.
The script was even edited by one of the world's leading authorities on First World War military history - best-selling author Nigel Cave.
Mark said: "We should tell our youngsters about war; that we do in fact have a duty to tell them of the horror and suffering of war, in the hope that the future conflict may be avoided.
"The pupils have really enjoyed the depth and challenge of this very grown-up subject matter, and we have been thrilled by their response."
