SIZZLING Stockbridge booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Hampshire Senior Cup for the first time in their 111-year history with a 2-0 home victory over Division 1 outfit Christchurch.
The Division 2 side struck midway through the first half when a cross-cum-shot by Lewis Bain hit the far post and rebounded into the net to give them the lead.
The home side clinched their place in the last eight on 78 minutes, Ryan Boare flicking the ball over a defender before firing home from just inside the penalty area.
"We played really well today and 2-0 probably isn't a fair reflection as they haven't hurt us at all," smiled Stockbridge boss Barry Andrews.
Goal-machine Jamie Laidlaw hoisted his season's tally to 32 with a four-goal salvo as Winchester City comfortably saw off Romsey Town 5-0, Lloyd Webber also netting.
