Eleven City of Southampton Club swimmers swam to 23 final places in their level one open meet at Haslemere.

Alex Reeves came third in the boys' medley skins and Charlotte Slater came seventh in the girls' freestyle skins.

Hayley Couchman reached the 13-and-under finals in all her events, was second in the 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke and 50m butterfly, third in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle, fourth in the 50m breaststroke and fifth in 100m breaststroke.

Charlotte Slater, 14, clocked her first national qualifying time of the season, finishing third in the 200m freestyle and reached three of the over-14 finals, winning the 400m freestyle and finishing third in the 200m butterfly, fifth in the 50m and 100m butterfly and 100m freestyle and eighth in the 200m individual medley.

Emma Macey, 15, achieved her second national qualifying time of the season, second in the 200m butterfly. She came fifth in the 14-and-over finals of the 50m butterfly and was fourth in the 100m butterfly and 50m breaststroke and eighth in 100m breaststroke.

Joanna Jeffcoate, 14, swam an excellent 200m backstroke to finish third, was fourth in the 200m butterfly, fifth in the 200m freestyle, sixth in 200m individual medley and eighth in 100m butterfly.

Joshua Willcocks, 14, reached four of the 14-year-and-under finals, finishing second in both 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle, third in 200m freestyle and sixth in 100m backstroke.

Luke Horswell, 16, also swam well to reach the 100m freestyle final and finish seventh among tough opposition. He was sixth in the 100m backstroke and seventh in the 200m freestyle.

Alexander Reeves, who celebrated his 16th birthday on Saturday, finished seventh in the final of both the 50m and 100m butterfly.

Leah Husband, 12, was eighth in the 13-and-under 50m breaststroke final.

Other good swims came from Sammy Windebank, who celebrated her 14th birthday on Sunday and came eighth in the 200m backstroke, Hannah Glasspool and Abigail Slater, who clocked personal best times.
