A SINGLE mum living in Andover wants to set up a charity helpline for people like her who are attacked by their children.
She says that her 15-year-old son was himself subject to aggressive behaviour from his step-father, and as a result he occasionally hits her when his temper flares up.
But she feels that existing charitable and statutory organisations are not geared up to cope with her particular problem.
The 47-year-old woman - who is registered disabled with mental health problems and sciatica and does not want to be named - said: "Every few months or so his temper flares up and he hits out - and unfortunately I'm on the receiving end."
Although his temper can flare up at any time for the slightest reason, he does not always hit her - and she does not blame him.
But in the latest attack he hit her on the arm causing bruising.
She said: "If children have been knocked about by adults they can turn out as bullies themselves.
"What I want to see is whether anything positive can come out of it.
"If enough people show an interest then perhaps a helpline charity could be set up and meetings could be held with others."
