BAT Sports' A team have moved into top spot of the Hendy Group South Hampshire Indoor Cricket League, but are just one point ahead of their arch-rivals, Winchester.
Miserly bowling from Ricky Rawlins, Damian Shirazi and birthday boy David Banks kept Trojans A, hindered by the non-attendance of one player, down to 62 all out from their innings. Although Shirazi was well caught in the BAT A reply, Banks and Richard Kenway ensured that there would be no further alarms, reaching their target as early as the seventh over.
In a high-scoring basement battle in Division 2, Paultons C thrashed a formidable total of 170 for 3, but were given a fright by Sarisbury B, finishing only 24 runs short.
Hambledon are now the only unbeaten team in the Colts Division, extending their record with a comfortable victory against Sarisbury. Burridge and Locks Heath are also looking strong, despite Burridge capitulating to a 24-run defeat against Portsmouth & Southsea.
