There was just one Senior League Cup tie played last Saturday but, boy, what a match!

Premier Division Otterbourne Reserves took on Academicals, from the top end of Senior 2, and it proved to be an amazing 6-6 draw after extra time. But even the scoreline does not describe the drama of this match.

Paul Doswell scored a hat-trick early on for the Accies, who led 4-2 before he had to go off injured. Accies still led 5-4 deep into injury time when Andy Harvey struck a late, late equaliser for Otterbourne with his third of the game to take the tie into extra time.

The Otters went 6-5 up in extra time through sub Scott Turski with his second of the game, only for Jarek Bilek to level again for Accies with virtually the last kick off extra time, also with his second. Ref Pete Buckeridge had to call time on the proceedings as it was too dark for penalties. Who knows how many they would have had to take to split the sides?

Dave Littler scored direct from a corner for Otters' fourth, while Roger Sim was Accies other marksman in this breathtaking thriller. I only hope I can take in the replay and that there is half as much action second time around!
