Southampton Running Club's men recovered from a weaker team performance in round two of the Hampshire Cross-Country League to push back to fifth in Division 1 at Overton.
Mark Campbell led the way in eighth, followed by Ian Robertson (25th) Alex Stobbard (junior, 32nd), Paul Fotherby (59th) and Eric Parker (73rd).
For the veterans, Tim Hatch (vet-50) was 108th, Dave Roots (vet-50) 139th and Gordon Whelan (vet-40) came home 170th.
SRC's women fielded a complete team comprising Debbie Colsett (6th), Claire Forbes (12th), Nala McRobert (vet-35, 30th) and Christine Robertson (52nd).
The next round of the league is on Saturday, January 15 at Prospect Park, Reading.
Meanwhile SRC sent a large contingent to the Hayling 10, which doubled as the fourth round of the Hampshire Road Race League and the Hampshire Road Championship.
SRC's men hold third place in the League, behind Denmead and Winchester, after finishing fifth team on the day, but the women faltered slightly from their run of second places to wind up a distant fourth behind the dominant Winchester squad.
Kaye Harwood was officially timed at 60.03, but her personal timing was 59.58 which, if correct, entered her into the elite band of sub 60-minute runners.
