ONE OF Hampshire's oldest and most established clubs is on the brink of closure after the resignation of its manager and secretary on Tuesday, writes sports editor Kerry Miller.
Wessex League Division Two side Whitchurch United celebrated 100 years of football last season, but suffered relegation to the new Second Division of the Wessex League in the summer.
This season they have again struggled on the field and the problems have been mirrored off it as well as chairman Tony Chivers resigned, soon to be followed by the club treasurer Alison Thomas.
