A TEACHER on the Waterside admits he looks like a boiled egg after shaving his hair and beard off for charity.
David Robinson, of Langdown Junior School in Hythe, was sad to lose his beloved beard, which he had cultivated over the last ten years. The chop was organised to raise funds for the school's adopted charity, Handshake to Kware, which helps children living in slums near Nairobi, Kenya.
"My wife is not too pleased and I think I'll look like a boiled egg by the time they have finished with me," said the Year 4 teacher who, raised about £100.
A large crowd of delighted pupils, parents and staff gathered to watch Mr Robinson get his sleek new look.
The school's charity efforts have raised a grand total of about £500.
