FAREHAM coach firm Lucketts Travel is on the expansion trail with a £100,000 investment programme in a new workshop.
The investment in the future follows strong demand for luxury coach travel.
Work has started on the new workshop at the company's headquarters, and is scheduled for completion in the new year.
The 2,500 square foot building, double the existing space, will be equipped with the latest equipment, including new vehicle lifts.
It will also be fitted with a computerised system which tells the five fully-qualified mechanics when maintenance is due on each of the luxury coaches in Lucketts' fleet.
Operations director Mark Jordan said: "Now is the time to invest this money and stay ahead of the game and our competitors. It's my job to make sure our vehicles go out in tip- top condition and the new workshop will help us maintain our high standards and a competitive edge.
"We take our responsibilities very seriously, going way above the minimum legal requirements for passenger safety and comfort, and our maintenance record is second to none."
