AFFORDABLE housing: Is it time for more affordable housing in Ellisfield?
The topic is currently in the news and, with house prices so high, it's likely to move up the agenda.
FARRIER'S Field: In the l990s, Tim Sullivan, then a parish councillor, and subsequently chairman, put in a huge amount of work and steered the Farrier's Field project through, with land generously donated by Lord Portsmouth.
Before that, in the late 1980s, suggestions about where to build were based on saving money by using land owned by the parish council.
These areas were the allotments behind the Fox, the fenced copicing area on the western side of lower Green Lane, between Tanglewood and Cresta Run, and the old gravel pits, now a "pocket park" at the foot of Green Lane and not for building.
