BRIGHT Start Pre-school: The children looked forward to a visit from Pudsey Bear on November 19.

They were celebrating the bear's birthday.

Pudsey came to say hello to the children and brought presents with him.

He also gave me a nice hug.

Pudsey Bear brought prizes for pictures coloured in by the children, as well as food for a teddy bear's picnic and amusing treats for the children.

The visit was arranged by Asda on behalf of the BBC Children in Need fundraising effort.

Along with Sam Hutchins, from Asda, Pudsey had already visited Manor Field Infant School and Starlings Pre-School in the morning, before coming to Bright Start Pre-school in the afternoon.

Winning the colouring competition was Matthew, who won a teddy, Danielle, who won Slinky, a rainbow spring, and Ben, who won some juggling balls.

All of the children were given chocolate bars to take home, yellow rosettes, and Pudsey was given a big hug.

Finally, they waved goodbye and thanked Pudsey for coming.

For Christmas, the children will be making cards, crackers and decorations.

They are looking forward to a party, when Father Christmas will bring presents for everyone.

The pre-school will break up for the Christmas holidays on Friday, December 17.
