HAMPSHIRE had to settle for a draw when they hosted Cheshire after the Men's A team won only three matches.
But they had made a great start on the first day with a 3-3 draw for the Ladies' B team and a superb 9-3 success for the Men's B squad. The Ladies' A match on day two was also drawn.
Amanda Humphreys, Sarah Morgan and Mandy Keith all won for the Ladies' B, while debutant Pennie Lewis let a 2-0 lead slip to lose 3-2.
Graham Hardy, Neil Neat, Tony Whitcher, Sam Rooney, Darren Hogg, Troy Butler, Steve Phillips, Andy Elvin and Paul Hogan won for a Men's B side, now third in their section just a point behind leaders Yorkshire.
Had the Ladies' A team taken their double chances, they could have been top of their section instead of third. But wins from Zo Wood, Jill Field and Jane Monaghan saw them draw.
It meant Hampshire entered the Men's A match leading 15-9 but they failed to claim overall victory.
Danny Ballard (who averaged just under 32 per dart), Jon Bramble and Roy Brown were the only Hampshire successes while Dennis Murrell saw opponent Peter Boughey hit a storming average of just under 35.
Hampshire's next game is at Warwickshire next month.
