IT'S been some few weeks for David Griffiths . . .
Selected for England Under-19s' tour to India and awarded a one-year contract by Hampshire, Griffiths, 18, has also been named Southern Electric Premier League Young Cricketer of the Year.
The Shanklin-based medium-pace bowler became the 24th recipient of the John Millett Memorial Trophy after taking 30 wickets for the Hampshire Academy last summer.
He narrowly pipped promising South Wilts left-hand all-rounder Eddie Abel to the award.
Griffiths, pictured receiving his award from retiring Premier League chairman Alan Bundy, is training at the Rose Bowl before joining up with the England Under-19 tour party immediately after Christmas.
England start a series of Under-19 'Test' and one-day internationals against India in Bangalore in January.
Griffiths made his England debut against Bangladesh in August.
