MAKING changes in a democratic society is an important life lesson that Balksbury Infant School pupils have been learning recently.
Newly-elected Balksbury representatives will now be given (some) control of the school's purse strings and will meet on a regular basis as the school council.
Year R teacher Rebecca Jones said: "Everything felt quite real for the children because we had a returning officer and proper ballot boxes."
