A GROUP of pupils from Weston Park School in Southampton had an in-depth look at the construction industry when they paid a visit to Whiteley-based builders Rok on the site of a £3.2m project at Calmore.
The taster day was arranged with Solent Skillquest.
It gave the enthusiastic 14-year-olds the chance to explore the various career opportunities in the industry and see at first hand how building projects work.
A guided tour was led by site manager Andy Flemming.
Andy described the work Rok is doing at Tatchbury Mount, where it is building a 23-bed mental health facility with communal areas and workshops for Hampshire Partnership NHS Trust.
Youngsters also learned about apprenticeships and the work of quantity surveyors.
